Who Is the Safari Tour For?

The Safari Tour is open to riders aged 16 years and older, with a minimum height of 130cm. No prior experience is necessary — our comprehensive pre-ride training gets complete beginners up to speed in minutes.

Whether you're a first-timer who's never touched a quad bike, or an experienced rider who wants to push the pace, the Safari Tour accommodates you. We split riders into speed groups based on ability and comfort — from a relaxed pace up to the beach speed limit of 40 km/h.

Speed Groups: Riding at Your Own Pace

One of the things that makes our Safari Tour so popular is the speed filtering system. Before heading onto the dunes, our guides assess each rider's comfort level and divide the group accordingly:

  • Relaxed group: A comfortable pace across flat dune sections — ideal for those who prefer to soak in the scenery.
  • Moderate group: A confident pace with some inclines and varied terrain.
  • Fast group: Up to 40 km/h on open beach sections, with larger dune climbs for experienced riders.

No-one is held back, and no-one is overwhelmed. That's the goal.

The Route: What You'll See

The Safari Tour covers a mix of terrain across the Stockton Beach sand dunes — Australia's largest moving coastal sand dunes, stretching over 32km along the coastline. You'll ride through:

  • Rolling dune landscapes with panoramic views
  • Open beach sections along the coastline
  • A beachfront stop for photos before the return leg
  • A slightly more intense ride back to base camp

Before You Ride: Training and Safety

Every Safari Tour starts with a thorough safety briefing and on-site training session. You'll learn how to start, stop, steer, and control the bike before you go anywhere near the dunes. Our guides have a maximum 6-to-1 rider-to-guide ratio, so there's always someone watching, coaching, and ready to assist.

All riders are provided with a helmet, goggles, and any other safety equipment needed. Read more about our full quad bike safety protocols.
